Strategic direction, policy refresh, the rules vote on 30 May, and member benefits at the festival — kept in one place as things roll out.

KYTANZ has a new strategic direction

Updated 26 June 2026

At our General Meeting on 18 April 2026, the KYTANZ committee endorsed a new strategic direction and adopted updated policies that better reflect who we are as a community of practice. This page is where we’ll keep you up to date as the changes roll out.

Overview of the strategy

KYTANZ is a community of practice — a peer network where Kundalini Yoga practitioners across Australia and New Zealand find connection, support, and professional scaffolding.

Our vision: KYTANZ is a stable ground where practitioners connect, grow, and serve — together.

Our mission: to support the personal, spiritual, and professional development of Kundalini Yoga practitioners through connection, integrity, and shared growth.

The plan rests on four commitments: holding space for a diverse, inclusive, and trauma-aware community; making practitioners’ lives and livelihoods easier; building connection through predictable, sustainable rhythms; and embedding compliance into the systems that support the work of the committee.

The most significant change is a move to a two-tier membership model — a free Community Tier open to anyone drawn to the practice, and a paid Professional Tier for active teaching professionals seeking visibility, business tools, and professional standing. Implementation requires amendments to KYTANZ’s Rules of Association — members voted to adopt the rules amendment at the 30 May 2026 General Meeting.

Overview of the policy changes

We’ve refreshed two foundational policies:

  • Teacher Training Scholarship policy — direct-to-applicant disbursement, paid in instalments, with quarterly check-ins.
  • Event Sponsorship policy — lead applicant must be a Financial Member, and reciprocity to KYTANZ is required.
