October 2026 newsletter

3 October 2026

Welcome home: 18+ years of KYTANZ and a new chapter. The new website, the AGM on 24 October, the Member Draw, and the Subagh Kriya practice.

Sat Nam,

A New Home for Our Community

As we move into October and AGM month, it feels like the right moment to reflect on how much has changed this year, and to celebrate 18+ years of KYTANZ.

Since 2008, KYTANZ has continued to evolve alongside the Kundalini Yoga community across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

On 21 September, our new KYTANZ website went live.

But what we launched was more than a website.

It was a new home for a community with a long history, many stories, and a renewed vision for what comes next.

A place to connect.

A place to find teachers, classes, events and trainings.

A place to support our teachers professionally.

A place where more people can find their way into community.

And a place where we can see more clearly what this Association is becoming.

Our Strategic Framework asks a simple question:

Does this support connection, integrity and shared growth?

For us, the new website is one very practical answer to that question.

It brings together so much of what we have been working towards this year: stronger community connection, greater visibility for teachers, clearer pathways into membership, better access to events and resources, and a more secure and professional digital foundation for the future.

Find teachers. Discover classes, events and trainings. Connect with community.

The Teacher Directory is already giving Professional Members greater visibility while making it easier for the public to connect with teachers, classes and services across Australia and New Zealand.

Behind the scenes, there has also been an enormous amount of work around privacy, structure, security and functionality.

This has been a genuinely collaborative process.

A very special thank you to Tara Surpreet, KYTANZ Vice President, (https://realmindsai.com.au) for her creativity, design vision and the care she has brought to this project.

It has been such a pleasure to write, create and collaborate together, throwing ideas backwards and forwards and gradually watching the new KYTANZ identity emerge.

There were also many long committee meetings, discussions, reviews and decisions along the way.

Thank you to those who kept showing up, asking questions, contributing ideas and helping shape what this could become.

We are still building.

More resources are coming. More professional support is coming. More opportunities for connection are coming.

But for now, it feels important to stop for a moment and recognise what has already been created.

18+ years of connection.
A clearer home.
A stronger foundation.
More ways to belong.

Welcome home.

Har Kiret Kaur
President, KYTANZ

Healthy communities make space for every voice. Inclusion is more than an invitation. It means creating ways for people to participate, contribute and be heard. kundaliniyoga.com.au

What does healthy community look like in practice?

For KYTANZ, building community is about more than bringing people together. It is about creating spaces where people can participate, contribute, ask questions and be heard.

A trauma-aware approach values safety, choice, voice and agency. It recognises that belonging does not require sameness, and that respectful difference and difficult conversations can be part of a healthy community.

Inclusion also means considering access. Are opportunities financially accessible? Can people participate regardless of where they live? Are there different pathways for people to connect, learn and belong?

This is why initiatives such as free Community Membership, scholarships, sponsorships and accessible online participation matter.

KRI’s Code of Ethics calls on teachers to “actively include all individuals.” It is a principle for all of us to reflect on, individually and collectively.

And we ask these questions of ourselves too.

Our Strategic Framework uses five questions to help ensure what we do aligns with our vision and mission, serves our community, considers eligibility and resources, and fits our agreed priorities.

Accountability is part of healthy community too.

As we continue building our Sangat across Australia and New Zealand, these are the values we want to nourish:

Connection. Inclusion. Respect. Voice. Access. Belonging.

Not everyone needs to think the same way to belong in the same Sangat.

Connect. Grow. Serve. TOGETHER.

KRI's Code of Ethics calls for active inclusion. KRI Code Principle 7 states: “Teachers must not discriminate against anyone, and should actively include all individuals.” A principle for all of us.
The Teacher Directory: a more inclusive way to find teachers, classes and community. Search by teacher, class, location or suburb at kundaliniyoga.com.au/teachers/.

Find a Teacher

One of the most practical parts of the new website is the Find a Teacher Directory.

It gives people a simple way to discover who is teaching, where they are, and what is available across Australia and New Zealand.

For teachers, it means greater visibility.

For the community, it means easier access.

And importantly, it does not rely on social media.

Not everyone uses Facebook or Instagram. Not everyone enjoys promoting themselves online. Some teachers prefer a quieter, more direct way to be found.

The directory creates that pathway.

You should not need to be constantly posting, marketing or already connected to the right circles for people to discover your work.

You should be able to have a professional presence, share what you offer, and let people find you in a simple, accessible way.

That is part of what inclusion looks like in practice too.

More choice. Less reliance on social media. More ways to connect.

EVENTS & OFFERINGS

KYTANZ newsletters are now bi-monthly. Next newsletter offerings: please submit by email by 25 November (last newsletter of the year).

KYTANZ presents a free 40 day Subagh Kriya practice to celebrate the launch and spring equinox, 23 September to 1 November 2026, daily at 7:30 pm AEST.

Subagh Kriya is a five-part Kundalini practice that works like an energetic magnet. It clears subconscious blocks and turns stagnation into prosperity and success.

From the spring equinox to 1 November, KYTANZ members are practising it together on Zoom every evening at 7:30 pm (Melbourne and Sydney time). We began it to celebrate the launch of the new KYTANZ website. This is the recording of that practice, for the evenings you can’t make it.

Practising with the recording

Forty days is the length it traditionally takes for a practice to take root. On the nights you can’t join us live, practise along with the video and keep your forty days unbroken.

Roll out your mat, sit comfortably, and take it at your own pace. Rest whenever you need to.

Join us live

Everything you need to join on the night is on the 40-day Subagh Kriya listing. Sign in for the Zoom link, or have a calendar invite sent to you so your calendar reminds you each evening.
